Sunday morning sermon series

Pastor Harry is currently leading the church through an exposition of Luke.

Our exposition of Luke is seen through His eyes. Luke is a physician, historian, and a theologian. He writes in a way that allows those that have not heard of Christ to gain an understanding to Who He is.

Luke will show us that salvation is about what Christ, alone, has accomplished on our behalf to the glory of the Father.

You can find each sermon in this series in the MESSAGES tab of this site.

Adult Sunday School

Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation.
—Matthew 26:41

Are you watchful in your Christian life? Although watchfulness is not as familiar as spiritual disciplines like meditation, prayer, and fasting, it is just as necessary for a healthy spiritual life. Scripture exhorts all Christians to be watchful, regardless of their station and season in life. In Watchfulness, Brian Hedges provides a fresh look at the what, why, how, when, and who of watchfulness, drawing principles from Scripture and instruction from believers of the past who have understood this discipline and written about it. Designed for reflection, self-examination, and personal application, with “Examine and Apply” questions at the end of each chapter, this book will chart your course toward greater watchfulness, increased holiness, and deeper communion with the triune God.

High school youth Sunday school

Our teens come from all around Sidney, Anna, Houston and other areas. We are able to minister to them with teaching, fellowship, games and activities that all have a purpose in explaining the message of forgiveness, love and redemption of Jesus.

Our youth ministry is not merely an extension of the church; it is a means to let our young people see they are currently part of the church family. We do this by having weekly Wednesday night meetings, outings and service projects.

We offer a Sunday School class on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM taught by Chris Duncan. We are currently going through a book study of "Behold Your God: Rethinking God Biblically".

Both classes meet in the very casual setting of sofas and chairs, lovingly referred to as the "youth lounge" in the church basement.

Wednesday Night Adult Study- 7PM

Wednesday's we are looking this series that will help us gain confidence in sharing our faith. This expanded anniversary edition includes updates and expansions of existing tactics, as well as the addition of an all-new tactic and a chapter on Mini Tactics filled with simple maneuvers to aid in discussions.

In a world increasingly indifferent to Christian truth, followers of Christ need to be equipped to communicate with those who do not speak their language or accept their source of authority. In Tactics, 10th Anniversary Edition, Gregory Koukl demonstrates how to artfully regain control of conversations, keeping them moving forward in constructive ways through thoughtful diplomacy. You'll learn how to stop challengers in their tracks and how to turn the tables on questions or provocative statements. Most important, you'll learn how to get people thinking about Jesus. Tactics provides the game plan for communicating the compelling truth about Christianity with confidence and grace.

Drawing on extensive experience defending Christianity in the public square, Koukl shows readers how to:

  • Initiate conversations effortlessly
  • Present the truth clearly, cleverly, and persuasively
  • Graciously and effectively expose faulty thinking
  • Skillfully manage the details of dialogue
  • Maintain an engaging, disarming style even under attack

Children's Ministries

Children's ministry for all ages is provided weekly. Kids church, Mini-church, Nursery & Girls Ministry are all part of Cornerstone's ministry to the family. Sunday School classes are available for children for ages 4 to 6th grade.

The Gospel Project® for Kids immerses kids and preschoolers in the gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. Ultimately, the gospel message changes everything; heart transformation can only take place when a child experiences the gospel. Through The Gospel Project® for Kids, kids and preschoolers will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story—God’s story of redemption.
